Expert Groups
Major Games Canada's primary responsibility is to assist with the management and coordination of Health Services Team for multi-sports Games in Canada and internationally. Delivering successful medical missions would not be possible without the contribution of our associated expert groups, which ensure the Health Services Team is comprised of the best in class practitioners.
If you are a qualified health care professional, member of an associated expert group, and would like to apply to the Health Services Team for Major Games, please contact your association for more information. Professionals need to apply through their expert group's process.
Note that the application periods for the 2025 Summer Games and the 2026 Winter Games are now over.

Our physicians are selected from a list of nominations submitted by the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine (CASEM). Therefore, the only way to be considered for any Major Games is to have a diploma in sport medicine from CASEM and apply when a call is open to their members.
Chiropractors

Our Chiropractors are selected from a list of nominations submitted by the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences – Canada (RCCSS-C). Therefore, the only way to be considered for any Major Games is to have a fellowship with the RCCSS(C) and apply when a call is open to their members.

Our Athletic Therapists are selected from a list of nominations submitted by the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA). Therefore, the only way to be considered for any Major Games is to have a certification with the CATA and apply when a call is open to their members.

Our Massage Therapists are selected from a list of nominations submitted by the Canadian Sport Massage Therapists Association (CSMTA). Therefore, the only way to be considered for any Major Games is to have a certification with the CSMTA and apply when a call is open to their members.

Our Physiotherapists are selected from a list of nominations submitted by Sport Physiotherapy Canada (SPC). Therefore, the only way to be considered for any Major Games is to have a diploma in sport physiotherapy from SPC and apply when a call is open to their members.
